New on The Horizon At Bishop

Carroll Catholic High School

by Kristie Wolfe, Principal

The 2008-2009 school year brought many new things to Bishop

Carroll High School, including a new name.

With the inclusion of the word “Catholic” in the school’s name,

the faculty and staff will work hard to maintain the high standard

of Catholic education. The school has always been dedicated to

providing a quality, affordable Catholic education to all families in

our area. The focus this year will be on both key words, “Catholic”

and “education.” With this in mind, BC will be enhancing its service

programs, providing seniors, in particular, with the opportunity

to make meaningful contributions to the school and community

through their Christian service projects. In addition to enhancing

programs for students, the school plans to continue making

advancements in academics.

There are many things going on behind the scenes as the

school is being reorganized and its governing body being transformed

into a board of trustees. The school now has these trustees,

a strategic planning committee and a Middle States Accreditation

team in place, en route to becoming a private Catholic high school,

offering the best secondary education in the area. Through these

processes, we intend to celebrate our strengths, and strengthen our

weaknesses.

Bishop Carroll’s international program continues to be successful,

as students from other countries come here seeking a quality

private American education. We hope this program continues to

grow, since it offers our students unique experiences in diversity,

globalization and academic competition.

As always, though, Bishop Carroll remains focused on its

original mission to educate students in spirit, heart, mind and

body, enabling them to become the best possible members of their

families, communities, church and world.

This is an exciting time for Bishop Carroll as we welcome the

new organizational structure. We expect that our commitment to

Catholic education will be stronger than ever.
