Aquinas Hall International Boarding School opens at BCCHS
On Aug. 21, Keeping the Torch Lit! Bishop Carroll Alumni Association The Alumni Association of Bishop Carroll High School actually consists of three vital parts. The first and most numerous is the membership which consists of every person who has graduated from BCHS. The second part consists of the active body of faithful officers and committee chairpersons who meet and plan alumni activities and events that help keep the alumni members connected and whose proceeds directly benefit BC students. The third part is the alumni office, located near the main office at BCHS.The first part of our association is the most vital because without all our grads and their financial support, BC could not continue providing the excellent education that the school has always provided to it's grads. Here in the office, we are always busy updating files with new information gathered at recent class reunions or submitted on line by our grads. We are also happy to help plan your class reunions. We can provide addresses from our database and share ideas from other class reunions. We can also provide you with information in case you want to hold your reunion right here at your alma mater. Bishop Carroll is a great place to gather for weddings and special alumni events. The parking is great, the hall is spacious, and the cuisine is fabulous thanks to the cafeteria catering staff. The classes of 1966, 1967, 1968 , 1969, 1983 & 1998 held their class reunions here at BC, often starting with Mass in the Chapel, continuing with a tour of the school and concluding with dinner and conversation in a cozy section of our cafeteria. If you send photos of your reunion, we can post them here on the web site. Another service we provide on our web site is to help you keep in touch with the accomplishments of your classmates; whether they are engagements, weddings, new births, adoptions or success stories. Don't hesitate to share your info, and please let us know when an alum has passed away. The second part of our association, the officers, committee chairpersons and any available alumni, meet the first Monday of each month, at 7:00 pm in the school library. You are always welcome to come and help us make a difference here at BCCHS. We especially need your help with the special alumni events. Please volunteer to help with ONE EVENT! Alumni Newsletter Read it here on the web, or send us your email to get your own private copy emailed to you. We do mail them to our alums who have no email but the mailing costs are steadily rising and we really prefer electronic methods when possible. The third part of the association is the Alumni Office. Kathy (Sloan) Oravec'67 and Cecilia Houser '05 are in the office most days trying to keep the ball rolling. We can help you with addresses and emails if you want to plan your reunion. We are the ones who send you the annual appeal letters to which so many alums graciously respond and for which we are so thankful. We are the "party central" for planning most of the events the alumni association hosts each year. From the Homecoming game & get-to-gether in the fall, to the Mass of Remembrance in October, on to the 7th & 8th grade welcoming dance in February, The Alumni dance in the fall and back again to Homecoming.
